Vietnam Part 2

We took another tour on our 3 day in Vietnam, this time to Cu Chi Tunnel. It took us 3 hours to get there, and have to pay another USD4 i think for the entrance fees (the tour fees was another USD6). So it's not really that cheap! I dont really fancy this kinda tour though, partly because i've seen quite a similar thing in Betong, Thailand. There's always small holes, traps, and more dark holes.. However, the first part is interesting, where an old soldier told us about the history of Cu Chi. Great story and memory i'll say.. coupled with some scenes of the old days and wars.

I didnt take many photos.. below is what you will see along the routes in Cu Chi. The tunnel is underneath, and some escape holes, landmines on this piece of land

So we head back to HCMC on the evening, and had our lunch-tea time at Pho 2000. I ordered some bread and curry chicken. Not bad, but on the sweet side. Pho 2000 was famous because ex-US president, Bill Clinton went there before. As expected, lotsa tourist having their lunch/dinner there. It's located just beside Ben Thanh Market, very easy to find

After the meal, we went for a walk and dad bought a helmet. Im amazed by the creativity.. cool and funky designs, although i believe it wont protect your head that well. Haha..

Next morning, we had our local breakfast again.. we love the bread! If im not mistaken, it's only 25000 dong! About USD4!

while waiting for the tour guide to pick us up for a half day city tour (USD4 i think), i saw this old lady cutting her fingernails with such a big scissors.

The tour guide is late again (you gotta used to the delays and lateness here in Vietnam, they are not punctual at all, just like most Asian - hate this attitude! ). First, she took us to the War Remnant Musem, which is good! I love the photograph collection there.. breathtaking!

The taxi driver sent us back to the hotel, and we waited for another one to pick us up to the airport in 1 hour time. My family is leaving Ho Chi Minh city after a short 4 days trip while i stay for another 10 days to visit Cambodia and some part of Vietnam.

Next post, Phnom Penh and Siam Reap. Check it out!
