Micropoecilia parae

FInally obtained 2 pairs of long awaited Micropoecilia parae!!! I got myself melanzoma orange and blue, about few months ago, but havent took photos.. Melanzoma orange give birth to A fry :(, while melanzoma blue give birth to 8 fries in total, both give birth after i've drop the tank temperature to 24 degree celcius, is it a coincidence? hmmm.... i had them for months without a single fry, and after a week of temp drop, fries emerging... hmm...

Hope the fries can grow up nicely and establish a population in my ponds :D

Queen Mary 2 in PENANG!

It was a total surprise for me, as i dont even know her coming until i saw member post in Shutter Asia the night before. so, again, last minute planning for a shooting with Chuppy, Fox and Andy.. I reach there around 7am as the website stated she will dock at 9am. How dissapointed i am when i saw her already docked at Swettenham Pier way earlier, missed the chance to shoot the arrival of QM2. Anyway, she was there, and she looks gorgeous and stunning, and not to mention, she is HUGE and GIGANTIC! haha.. the biggest ship i've ever seen in my life. Thanks for coming to Penang, it's like an opportunity in the life time to see her with my own eyes!

The light, and weather doesnt seems to be satisfying though... although early morning still good, with some clouds and nice sun rays.. managed to capture few HDR shots. I walked from Esplanade, up to the Light House, and then to Swettenham Pier, and to Tanjung City Marina to find the right spot, right angle.. but man, it's hard. Furthermore, we are restricted from entering the pier, if not, we will be able to get more closer shot of the magnificient Queen Mary 2.

Im really glad though, and it's worth waking up in the early morning at 6, while riding my bike in the darkness to get to the jetty as early as possible, but then, she was way earlier than me :(

Teluk Bahang floating fish farm

Last saturday, on Thaipusam, we decided to go for a fishing trip, with Andrew and his wife, his fren, and Helven at Teluk Bahang. I didnt realise there was a chalets build on the floating fish farms for anglers. The rate was acceptable, RM100 per chalet for max 3 pax. Each chalet with bed, sink, chair, small kitchen, fan, lights.. most of the basic utilities

You have to call in to book in advance, as it is always full, particularly in the weekends. Wonder why? haha.. you will see later below.. Anyway, you can call Oo1, 012-473 3118 for booking and when you are there at the jetty, they will come and take you to the floating fish farm with a small boat.

We had alot's of fishes particularly in the evening, at only one spot, right in front of my chalet! You can practically caught one by the minute! haha..

I caught quite a number of fishes and fish species too, from Mangrove Jack, red Mangrove Jack, giant Pufferfish, Orange Spotted grouper, some small fishes, Tasar, and few more while my friends even managed to get octopus, cuttlefish, Scat, and one big fish... im not sure what species but it looks like sun fish cousin.. :p

This is Helven and my catch, and there's another 2 box similar to this.. imagine how many fishes we can get in just an evening... Tempting? go try your luck there... maybe you can get bigger fish :D

Fruits of Thailand

I visited Betong, Thailand last thursday with my family, a short trip for Chinese New Year shopping and i've took quite a number of shots, snapping whatever i see.. haha.. Here some fruits shots that i've managed to get while mum shopping for fruits. The mangoes were superb and sweet, although slightly expensive

They called this Snake Skin fruit or "Buah Salak" in Malay (Salacca edulis)

Nice "Jambu air" or Chomphu in Thailand. Commonly known as Wax Apple in the west (Syzygium samarangense)

Betong, Experience Thailand

We visited Betong last thursday, for early Chinese New Year shopping for biscuits, crackers and others while i took this opportunity to grab some shots. It was a really short trip, from 7am to 12pm only..

My works!

A year after i've started my photography, i've received alots of good comments and 'likes', and im deeply touched by all this.. it means alot to me, it motivates me to shoot more and improve my photos! Not to forget, friends who helped, assist me, guide me, teach me.. and alots more... thousands thanks to you guys! i will continue to improve myself day by day.. and hope more of my readers will support me!

Besides that, im also very glad because my work was accepted worldwide. For example, people from various part of the world, have asked permission to publish my photos in their website! Penang Spice Garden

It was first time visit there, and to be honest, it is quite expensive. It cost RM14 for the tickets and there's no discounted rate for the locals, unlike Penang Butterfly Farm or even Penang Bird Park, which offers 50% discount rate.

Anyhow, the place were scaped beautifully, with jungle-trail feel and informative signboards of spices around the country. There were steep climb, water trail, small rivers, man-made ponds, and few nature feature which i find there to be peaceful and calming. I would love to visit there again, and have relaxing time IF the rate will be cheaper.. The garden offers lots of close-up opportunity particularly with the abstract shots, different kind of flowers, leave's textures and contrast, and many more.. Good place to practice composition skills..
